The strongest and most powerful Road Runner is the impressive ’68 Hemi. The Road Runner Hemi was often used as a drag car, mainly due to its insane 426 cubic inch V8 engine and phenomenal 425 horsepower.
Plymouth went as a far as licensing the Road Runner name, image and likeness from the Warner Brothers cartoon character. They even made the horn on the Road Runner sound like its cartoon cousin with a distinctive ‘meep meep’ sound. This gave the Road Runner muscle car, a distinct and memorable personality.
