10 Best Classic American Muscle Cars

3. 1970 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda

It was officially called the Plymouth Hemi Barracuda, but everyone just called it the Hemi ‘Cuda, or just the Cuda.

The Cuda had a fastback A-body which were based on another car from Plymouth, the Valiant. Later models were still based on the Valiant, but their design was heavily modified and created its own unique personality. While the first only came as a Coupe, the second was available as fastback, notchback and convertibles.

But all Cudas get muscle car lovers seriously excited. They had six or eight cylinderr engines, optional dual carburetor 426 cubic inch V8 that could put out 425 horsepower. Are you even surprised that this car made it to the list? It often tops the lists of muscle car lovers.

The Barracuda offers a real bite. But the best part of the Barracuda, is probably its most famous feature. They added a shaker hood that comes up through the hood and looks awesome. When people think of muscle cars – this is one thing they always think about.

Since Plymouth limited the production of these cars, these days, the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Barrcuda is highly collectible.
