2. 1968 Dodge Charger R/T
Some people cannot imagine any other muscle car than the 1968 Dodge Charger. With its lean body, serious engine, black grill and headlights hidden from sight – this is the picture of a real muscle car. Dodge even added the R/T to indicate that this car is designed for drag racing.
The Dodge also has big suspension, phenomenal handling, and a seriously powerful 375 horsepower 440 c/i V8 engine. The R/T Dodge had an optional Hemi engine that gave the vehicle much more power than the standard.
Dodge produced plenty of units of the Charger, but only 17,000 of them were made to R/T specification. One last reason that everyone knows this car is that it featured in the Steve McQueen film Bullit, appearing in some of the best chase sequences every filmed.
In the world of the muscle car, this one will long be remembered.
