During Development The Model S Broke the Machine Testing its Strength
According to the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), before being allowed on the road, every car must be tested for roof crush resistance. It is almost as if Tesla considered the test as a bet to see how much stronger they could develop a car roof to be. Tesla didn’t just reach the minimum requirements, which is usually the goal of most carmakers, they literally crushed it… and doubled it. The roof of the Model S was so strong that it broke the testing machine. The Model S is one of the few cars on the market to have a perfect all-around safety rating.
