Even though the price seemed right at just under $4,000.00 in the 1980s, the Yugo was more representative of a toy than an actual car. It also was not the safest car, being as safe as a skateboard with three wheels. This was bad news for Yugoslavia since we doubt any American car fans were tempted to buy a car from Soviet-era Yugoslavia after seeing the likes of the Yugo.
