Amazing Cars From The 1950’s That Should Never Be Forgotten

The 1957 Ford Thunderbird

Unlike a lot of the previously mentioned vehicles, the ’57 Ford Thunderbird (T-Bird) was considered to be a top luxury car. The ’57 is unlike the later Thunderbirds, and the two-seat 1957 model was considered to be Ford’s answer to the highly popular Chevy Corvette. And Ford’s gamble was right, this vehicle became instantly more popular and massively outperformed all the competition in terms of sales and many in terms of performance too.

The Ford Thunderbird came with a massive 5.1-liter V8 engine with up to 245 horsepower, which was very impressive for its time. Ford followed up the ’57 two-seat version with a 4-seater model one year later to suit customers with families. Ford’s bet on the 4-seater massively paid off with the ’58 outselling the ’57 model by four times! Of course, due to its massive popularity, the ’58 turned the ’57 T-Bird into a collectible classic that no one can forget even now.
