The 1959 Austin Mini
The brainchild of British legend Sir Alex Issigonis, the revolutionary little Austin Mini wasn’t even a full 10 feet in length. But the famous Austin Mini went on to become one of the most iconic, popular, and influential cars of all time. It was originally marketed under two different brand names, the Austin and the Morris. While only managing a sweet little thirty-three horsepower, it soon became a family favorite and became known as a trustworthy and reliable little family car.
We think the Austin Mini and its brand are pretty unforgettable. And so do classic car buyers. In 2003, a Mini Cooper S that had sat unused in a garage for 20 years (and wouldn’t even start) was sold at auction for $38,000.
