Even if you don’t know much about cars, you likely know that apart from the engine, the alternator is one of the most important parts of a car. What you might not know is that it wasn’t until the 1960s that alternators were considered to be the standard. Before then, old generator systems were the norm.

Unfortunately, this older technology did not last as long as they were bulky and not advanced enough to deal with the power necessary.
