Carburetors
Originally invented in 1886, the carburetor could be found in the majority of car models up until the late 1980s. Producing a mixture of vaporized fuel and air, the carburetor allowed cars to run. Unfortunately, however, they often broke down and often needed tuning.
For this reason, they are no longer used and fuel injected cars became the norm and there has not been a carbureted car manufactured in the United States since 1991.
