Classic Car Features You Forgot About

Full-Size Spare Tire

Ah, do you remember the full sized spare tire? Wow, those were the days weren’t they? If you got a flat, you just took out the spare, and away you went. There was no need to worry about getting it fixed immediately – you had good tire on the car right now.

Unfortunately today’s spares are a poor trade. They are designed to go a limited distance and are restricted to speeds under fifty miles per hour.

Of course, there was a down side to having such great spares. You often forgot to change them back again! So the next time you had to change your tire, you were left with a flat tire on the axle and another in the trunk.

Given the cost of modern cars, it wouldn’t be such a stretch for manufacturers to put a full size spare in the trunk though – surely.
