Driving Slowly In The Passing Lane

If you commit this driving sin, you are really driving people crazy. If you’re a driver and you’ve found yourself stuck behind people in the passing lane, you’ll know exactly what we mean.

Driving slowly in the passing lane is deeply annoying. One of the reasons that it is so dangerous is that it causes other people to drive at higher speeds in the slower lanes. It also leads people to try to pass on the inside lane, since the passing lane is blocked by a slow moving tortoise.

The lanes on the right of the highway are for slow vehicles. The left lanes are for driving faster and passing other vehicles.

If it helps, try to work out whether you’re comfortable driving fast or slow. It is considered to be completely rude to drive in the fast lane if you’re not driving at the maximum speed for that lane. If you are in that lane and there’s a lot of cars behind you, that’s an indication that you may not be in the right lane. And if you hear people honking their horn, the chances could be that you’re driving too slowly in the passing lane.
