Mechanics Cringe When These Cars Roll In To The Shop

Ford Focus

The major issues with the Ford Focus are the transmission that is often rough-shifting or slipping, and driveshaft vibrations.
All three versions (sedan, hatchback, an electric) of the Focus are deceiving in that they appear to be a solid. However, they are super unreliable with its jerky transmission when going at low speeds even though we will admit that it is easy to handle. It also fails with its super narrow, albeit quit, cabin. Like the much smaller Fiesta, a new 123-hp, 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo is also available but is anything but fast. Fortunately the troublesome “infotainment” system has been replaced.
