Was this car to be mocked or lauded? It was equally loved as loathed. The public couldn’t make up its minds and neither could the press.

But when it was first revealed to the world in 1974, the strange shape of the TR7 got a lot of newspaper column interest and mainly in negative comments. Even all these years after the car was launched, it’s still mocked and ridiculed wherever it goes.

And it was slow. Incredibly slow. It had a low top speed and an abysmal 0-60 time. It wasn’t a total lemon, but it still made it to our list of the worst cars.
