Nissan Versa
Surprisingly since it won two Top Safety Picks between 2011 and 2014, the Nissan Versa does not allow for efficient front overlap protection. More specifically, the airbags when tested would often “[leave] the head vulnerable to contact with [the] forward structure.” The Versa’s driver fatality rate is 95 per million registrations, with just under 40% being single-vehicle incidents.
