6. 1983-2011 Ford Ranger
Since it was first released to replace the Courier, the Ford Ranger has been known for being reliable, even achieving 20 mpg in wind tunnel testing. It was able to reach this figure in part due to its lightweight materials and high-strength steel. First generation models include those from between 1983 and 1992 while all others making up the second generation, which provided the same excellent construction with additional modern features. It is due to return in the 2019 model year and people can’t wait to see what upgrades it will feature. The reason for its popularity is that it provides durability in a small package. You can essentially do no wrong in buying a used model, as long as previous owners kept up with regular maintenance.
