5. 1983-2005 Toyota Hilux
For over decades, the Hilux was produced and sold all over the world. One of the main reasons for its popularity is its simple build and durability. Although it was made available with either a pickup or chassis cab, the pickup version is much more popular. 1983 marked the beginning of the fourth generation of the Hilux, which means that Toyota already had plenty of time to figure out how to make it even more reliable and modern. At this time, but only for a few years, a diesel engine was an option, which was followed by a turbocharged engine. Even current models provide the same simplicity and reliability, so you really can’t go wrong with a Hilux from anytime after 1982.
