The 25 Most Reliable Trucks

18. 2002-2005 Ford Explorer

If you are looking to buy a used Ford Explorer, your best bet would be to get one from 2002 to 2005, which make up the third generation of this vehicle. The Explorer was originally produced to replace the Bronco II. Changes were made in 2002 to make the Explorer more like the Expedition in that they looked quite similar with more rounded wheel sockets and large, black lights. Drivers had the option of either a 4.6-liter V8 or a 4-liter V6. These third generation models also came with the option of having a third row, which allowed it to be a more suitable option for large families. With proper maintenance, the Explorer should reach 200,000 with only minor issues.
