1989 Dodge Ram Cummins Turbodiesel
By 1989, Dodge was taking a beating from the rest of the market. Then they introduced something spectacular, a miracle of power, the Cummins Turbodiesel engine. To this, they added a big old frame and the power to shift 16,000 pounds of cargo.
It turned some of Dodge’s regular trucks into real sellers again. It’s likely that this engine evolution may have saved Dodge from disappearing altogether at the time.
