Jeep Gladiator J-Series
The J-Series Jeep Gladiator came off the production line for 26 years with almost no changes. The Gladiator was a real champion, with cutting edge front suspension and four wheel drive ability. The Gladiator was light, but it was rugged and fast too. It was so good that the US Army even bought it under a different name – the M715.
When Jeep joined AMC, the Gladiator benefited from modern features and a series of upgraded engines. The original standard became a big 4.2 liter straight six, but there was an option for a huge V8 too. AMC decided to lose the ‘Gladiator’ name in 1971, but this truck remained one of the most flexible and durable off-road trucks ever produced.
