1955 Chevrolet Task Force
This Chevrolet certainly had a tough guy name. Task Force suggests rugged military power. This was the first vehicle to ever have the small-block 8-cylinder power plant that General Motors designed.
The 1955 version was an improvement on the earlier 1947 design. Although Ford has won the race to get their V8 truck out on the market, the Task Force’s 265 cubic inch engine soon put it where it should rightfully be, right at the top of the trucks of its day.
