3. The Fuel Injected 1957 Chevy Corvette – 6.6 seconds

The introduction of the injection system in the Corvette might be considered infantile in its stages, but it worked nonetheless. The flooding of newer Ford and Plymouth vehicles had a hand in the premature integration of the injection, but it was all Chevrolet had in direct competition. They needed a strong selling pitch. Overall, the decision to include fuel injection systems came late in the 50s- in 1956, just before the introduction deadline. This was all the car manufacturer needed to become one of the quickest cars in the 50s generation.
