The Seven Least Reliable Cars Of 2017

JEEP CHEROKEE

From World War 2 to the present day Jeep has been regarded as an indestructible vehicle. The Jeep Cherokee, in many forms, has been around since 1974. It offers attractive styling, a roomy interior, a nice ride, a good all terrain capability, and a smooth, peppy 3.2 litre V6 engine. Most of all it conjures the spirit of youth and adventure. It seems to have everything required by today’s buyer, but due to the fact that it is a combination of Chrysler and Fiat parts, it is a questionable choice,

The Jeep Cherokee drive platform is the same as was used in Dodge Dart sedans and in European Alfa Romeos (the Giulietta). Both of these cars have been discontinued. The Jeep Cherokee “features” German-designed 9-speed automatic transmission. This transmission is known for its clunky erratic shifts and poor reliability. Even though there have been many software reflashes, the transmission remains troublesome.

The 4 cylinder engine produced by Fiat has little power, poor fuel efficiency and a tendency to leak oil. Also, the engine frequently cuts out without warning, often at speed. The Cherokee is also known to have electrical problems. This car requires frequent servicing.
