Mercedes-Benz 300 D
Available in extra boring, with an interior like a Panda’s boudoir, the 300D was driven by businessmen with more money than sense.
Sadly, this vehicle was more canal barge than the normal quality of the Mercedes Benz. Even sadder that we felt compelled to include a Merc on our list. But this one deserved it.
In 1978, Mercedes rebadged and launched the W123, giving the car a major facelift – exactly what it needed. The W123 was petrol, the 300D was diesel – at a time when that meant achingly slow in comparison.
Thus ends our list of ugly, powerless, low aesthetic, boring, dull, often-rebadged lemons of the 1970s. And while some of them have gone on to become classic cars, most of them are just filling up space in junkyards across the country. Thanks for reading! Hit the NEXT button for another article!
