The Worst Cars of the 1970s

The Mercury Bobcat

This car, the Mercury Bobcat was a Ford Pinto. A rebadged Ford Pinto. Because it appears that no one at all realised that rebadging cars actually does not works. The Pinto was really bad, but the Bobcat was worse. How Ford survived the Seventies with colossal crappola like this, I’ve no clue. It looked a lot like someone ran out of ideas before finishing the design. Who knows what they were thinking – least of all the folks at Ford. The Mercury Bobcat is an utter loser. If there was a list of the worst of the worst, this would be near the top.
