The Worst Cars of the 1970s

Ford Pinto

Finally we get to the worst of the worst of cars from the 1970s. The Pinto.

They used to say on the radio, the Pinto leaves you with a warm feeling. If by warm, you mean on fire from the exploding gas tanks, then it sure was. In an accident, the Pinto would become a death trap. The occupants couldn’t escape from the burning wreck. Ford tested the Pinto many times. Each time, it exploded. Of course, they didn’t admit that. And they didn’t fix the problem either. Pinto is the most shameful chapter in Ford’s design history. A candidate for the worst car ever made.
