Ford Maverick/Mercury Comet

This Ford came with a range of different fresh and quirkily named colour options that all sounded roundly terrible. This luxury model was created as an answer to European luxury cars.

The Maverick was named after a disobedient creature and the car wasn’t different. The Maverick replaced the Falcon in Ford’s compact line up. And it was awful. Almost irredeemably so.

The Mercury was an exact copy of the Maverick with a different name, and just as unappealing.
