What Made It So Awful: When General Motors had ownership of Lotus, they made the Elan, a kind of love letter to poor production design. A front wheel drive sports car. Elan means energy, style, and enthusiasm. We could suggest a less enthusiastic name for it. Something like… whistle, or brick, or… lemon.
