You are still getting swindled and bamboozled by the automotive industry

How often do you change your oil?

If its less than 5000 miles every time, you’re doing it wrong. Depending on your vehicle, climate and oil type there may not be a need to change your oil so frequently. A lot of European cars like VW and Mercedes require a specific type of synthetic oil and when used can get upwards of 10000 miles between changes. A lot of US domestic cars use a different or lower spec oil but even then you should have no problem hitting the 5000-mile mark per oil change. A few other things to consider are if you are using a good synthetic, time between changes are no longer truly a factor and is almost strictly based on your mileage. If you are going extended distances with oil changes it its good practice to check the level every once in a while as you can lose a bit of oil over time especially is your car is turbocharged. Millions of dollars and resources are wasted every year from too frequent oil changes find out the right type to use in your vehicle and it should be smooth sailing.
