Don’t cheap out; it will cost you in the long run
We can understand that money is tight and filling up with no-name gasoline sounds like a no-brainer. How different can it really be, anyways? A lot, apparently. Lab testing has shown that it can severely damage engines. So although you might be saving a few bucks here and there, the damage that it causes does not pay off in the end. As stated in a report by the American Automobile Association, “among brands tested, non-TOP TIER gasolines caused 19 times more engine deposits than TOP TIER brands after just 4,000 miles of simulated driving.”
