Classic Car Features You Forgot About

Shark fins

If there’s one thing that almost all Americans could recognise during the mid-Seventies, it was the dorsal fin of a great white shark. It’s intense popularity left millions of people afraid ‘to go back in the water’.

However, in the automobile industries, the shark fin was on its way out by the time the monster’s giant fin was coming in. Shark fins on cars are utterly classy, and utterly pointless, but they’re also super crazy cool.

Those shark fins from the 50s were one of the greatest symbols of an American built car. Unfortunately muscle cars and sports cars needed to be more aerodynamic and so one of the things to do were the pointless but beautiful shark fins.

If they brought back shark fins on the right vehicles in the right style, we think they’ve be really popular today.
