The Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT) Lightning was a response to Chevrolet and Dodge’s dominance in this market.

Once again, they chose to put a big old engine into a smaller body vehicle. In 1999, a regular two door Ford 150was given a supercharged 5.4 liter engine with 360 brake horsepower.

This was the truck equivalent of the muscle car. And while some critics are less than friendly regarding this high performance pickup, the speed and power of the Lightning is more than enough to answer the negative reviews.
