The Quickest Cars of the 1950s

9) The 1956 Chevrolet Corvette – 7.5 seconds

If you’re reading this after 1956, you’ll no doubt know the ’56 Corvette has made a firm impact on the world of sports cars. After driving one for the past few days, I am not at all surprised. The production model was capable of being driven quickly and without mercy, under any circumstances. It even showed its greater talent for use in the racing arena. It’s my conclusion, that this Corvette holds just as much dual purpose potential as cars like the Jaguar, Austin-Healey, or the Triumph.
