Lowest rated compact car: Fiat 500L
The Fiat 500L has become famous for the worst reasons. In a poll of 740,000 vehicles, it has been rated as the least reliable new car available. Now that’s some record to beat isn’t it? The worst new car out of almost a million vehicles! Consumer Reports called the car their worst rated compact vehicle too. With these two ‘honors’, it’s a surprised that anyone has bought one.
This poor performing car has been marked out for various serious problems. In road tests, the awful seating and awkward driving position make even taking this car for a little drive a difficult proposition.
Then, in the standard safety test, the IIHS small-overlap frontal test, this car’s has performed awfully . Plus, in a number of owner satisfaction surveys, the car scored – the worst of the worst. Drivers even go as far as saying, they wish they had never bought the Fiat 500L. It doesn’t get much worse than that does it?
