The Worst Polluting Cars On The Road Today

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

If it’s another Chevrolet, then it’s another muscle car, and if it’s another muscle car – then it’s also a horrible polluter of the environment. The Camaro ZL1 is much loved by muscle car enthusiasts all over America and the rest of the world. But once again, it doesn’t love the planet back. When it comes to fuel economy and CO2 emissions, the Camaro is a monster.

There’s a ton of discussion over whether Chevy’s Camaro or Corvette is the best muscle car in the entire world, but there’s no discussion at all about its impact on the environment. The Camaro is the winner in this contest – the best of the worst. The ZL1 gets a paltry 18 miles to the gallon and pukes out a whopping 1.37 pounds of CO2 for every one of the miles that it drives. Oh, and if it’s driving in the city, it gets only 12 miles to the gallon – that’s appalling really isn’t it?

But this planet killer needs a lot of fuel for its gigantic 6.2 liter supercharged V8 monster engine – with all that horsepower – 640 and 640 pounds of torque, it’s a gas guzzler for a reason.

This is one powerful car that looks good and sounds great. Just a shame it’s choking out harmful pollutants every step of the way.
